Postmortem: Scheduled maintenance, production deployment on 6 October 2026
Summary
On 6 October 2026 we carried out a planned production release across the Optty platform. The maintenance was scheduled for 13:30 to 15:30 UTC. It started at 13:30 UTC and finished early, at 14:25 UTC. The release adds new merchant onboarding features, more flexible payment operations, wider settlement support and several fixes.
Scope
- Optty Merchants Payments API
- Optty Widgets
- Optty Universal Payments Platform (UPP)
- Dashboard and Reporting
- Webhook Notifications
- Settlement
Customer impact
There was no downtime during the maintenance. Payment processing, checkout and all other Optty services stayed available throughout.
What changed
-
Automated Mass Onboarding: Partners can now set up merchants in bulk in UPP. You can create a merchant batch, track how it's processing, download the final output and export any records that failed.
-
Optional amounts on capture and void: The amount is now optional when you call the capture and void APIs. If you leave it out, the full authorised amount is used.
-
Post-authorisation fraud checks: We've added extra fraud screening after authorisation for supported transactions.
-
Skrill and Neteller settlement: Settlement now supports Skrill and Neteller.
-
Scalapay order cancellation: We fixed order cancellation handling for Scalapay so that order status stays accurate.
-
Small-amount payment options: We fixed an issue where some alternative payment methods didn't show for orders under 1 GBP.
-
WooCommerce plugin: The Optty WooCommerce plugin now supports the full in-context checkout flow for alternative payment methods.
-
UPP payment provider logos: We fixed how payment provider logos display in UPP Payments Management.
